Arvidsjaur Airport is Growing!
In the autumn of 2004 Arvidsjaur’s airport will start an expansion programme with lengthening of its runway, the addition of a new aircraft taxiway and the installation of a new instrument landing system. The Swedish government, the Norrbotten government and the municipality of Arvidsjaur have invested a total of 36,6 million Swedish Kronor (€4 million) in the airport.
The strong growth in the area’s auto test industry has been the driving force behind the airport improvements which forge yet another strong link in the region’s connections with the world.

Flights between North Sweden and the European continent are excellent. For example, during winter months there are flights twice a week to four destinations in Germany.
One of the destinations, Mannheim, has connections to France and Italy. Direct flights are also available to London and Stockholm.

Flights to Stockholm’s international airport are three times a day on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays; twice a day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays; and one on Saturdays.
